What he is trying to say is that when you are doing good thing you will have so much chances opportunities, open doors...etc... But if you chose doing bad stuff like drugs alcohol ditching school ..etc.. that will ruin your life forever and you will not be free you will be stuck in yell or in a big deep black hole but you can't get out because there is no way to get out of it .But if you work hard no cheating and being honest there will be having open door lots of chances and freedom you will not be stuck because you are trying your best in what you can do you don't give up.
