What this quote is trying to say is that  cheating is bad because you are not doing the right thing you are choosing the wrong. Instead of doing the right.When you cheat is not fair because you are not the one putting your effort, you are putting someone else effort  on what you want to reach. For example you are doing the olympics and you are in running track and today is the final but you really want to win because you don't want let down your family. So you take some drugs so you could run faster and win so your family will be proud of you. So you win the competition But you know that you had done the wrong thing you had chose the wrong by cheating on the race and now you're conscious won't let you  be proud of yourself and you will someday regret on what you did. But if you have not taken those drugs you will probably win with effort you would had chose right.
